About Us | Divergent Wasmeri

Our Story

Divergent Wasmeri was founded on 8 July 2026 by Stephanie Dapue Joseph from East Sepik Province.

After personally experiencing how difficult it can be to find suitable childcare and household support, Stephanie was inspired to create a simpler way for Family / Hirers in Papua New Guinea to connect with people offering caregiving and household services.

Divergent Wasmeri was created to do two things: help people find work by showcasing Wasmeri / Service provider and other skills, and help hiring users — Family / Hirers, individuals, businesses and organisations — connect with people offering those services, including Family / Hirers caring for children with special needs. Providers may write their own services. A listed skill is not a qualification. Verification is optional.

Divergent Wasmeri operates fully online and serves Family / Hirers in every province of Papua New Guinea.

Why Choose Us?

We provide an online platform that creates connections and opens a new door to opportunities for every Papua New Guinean.
Providers can list categories, skills and user-written services. A listed skill is not a qualification.
Service Providers may submit identity documents if they choose. Family / Hirer accounts do not complete identity verification.
Family / Hirers can view available profiles and decide who they would like to contact or engage.
We serve Family / Hirers in all provinces of Papua New Guinea.
We aim to support Family / Hirers who need additional help caring for children with special needs.

How We Verify Accounts

Verification is optional. Wasmeri / Service provider accounts may submit:

Police clearance — supporting documentation regarding their criminal record.
Medical report or certificate — supporting documentation provided for account verification.
Government-recognized identification — used to confirm the caregiver's identity.
References — information that may be used to verify previous work experience or character.

Verification of a Service Provider account does not guarantee a person's conduct, suitability, quality of work, or future behavior. Hiring users should make their own decisions and take appropriate precautions. Family / Hirer accounts do not complete identity verification.
